In April 1991, the delegates at the 1st Saxon Medical Assembly passed a resolution to establish a pension scheme. On 2 November 1991, the chamber assembly of the Saxon State Chamber of Physicians approved its expansion to include ten veterinarians - and thus the affiliation of the Saxon State Chamber of Veterinarians. The now ‘Extended Chamber Assembly’ adopted the statutes of the SÄV as the legal regulations. After the political change, the Saxon doctors and veterinarians were thus given the opportunity to take their pension provision into their own hands and build on the tradition of professional pension provision established long before the Second World War.
