The Sächsische Ärzteversorgung is a body of the Saxony Chamber of Physicians (Landesärztekammer), a body governed by public law. For 30 years now, we have granted a reliable old-age, invalidity and survivor’s pension to our medical and veterinary members.
We are one of the largest professional pension schemes in the new Länder, with more then 20.000 contributors, over 5.000 beneficiaries and a balance sheet of around EUR 4,7 billion.
In Germany, members of the liberal professions, such as architects, pharmacists, doctors and veterinarians, are not compulsorily insured under the statutory pension insurance scheme. The pension scheme is covered by professional pension schemes. These are financed without state subsidies and are managed by the members of the profession themselves.
This is also the case for the SÄV. Our voluntary bodies are assisted by a full-time administration responsible for day-to-day and asset management in accordance with the Management Committee.
